Jerry Noel Ilé

Jerry Noel Ilé, mentor and founder of Your Mentor Health

I've spent the last three years mentoring young people in secondary schools, and two years before that working one-to-one with adults — work I still carry on alongside the school side. Behaviour, trauma and PTSD, self-harm, anxiety and low mood are the themes that come up most.

Before I worked with teenagers, I spent seventeen years in business analysis and data, including 8 years in Polo Ralph Lauren — building reporting systems, running data projects, automating processes, and turning messy information into something people could act on.

The two halves are less separate than they sound. Mentoring works when someone turns up consistently, keeps proper records, notices patterns before they become crises, and tells you honestly what's shifting and what isn't. That's the same discipline, pointed at people instead of spreadsheets. It's also why schools get a termly summary from me rather than a shrug when a governor asks what the provision achieved.

I'm Enhanced DBS checked, hold a Level 5 IAPC&M coaching accreditation, and carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. I work across London and Hertfordshire.

Mentoring is not therapy or a crisis service. Where a young person needs clinical support, I signpost and work with the school's safeguarding lead to get them there.
